What material are the decks made of?   We use a blend of Chinese Birch and Beech wood.  The wood arrives at the factory and is soaked in cold water for a few days, until it becomes plyable.  It is then shaved into thin veneers and rolled up to partially dry.  Later, when the wood is dry, it is glued together with other veneers and then pressed together in a mold that hold the exact shape of the deck.  It is then finished for each particular design.
